· When a folder is marked dirty, it is not scanned immediately. This would result in disk thrashing for frequently changed folders. The scan is delayed until the user requests the data, and then the scanner retrieves dirty data in the scanned folder.
· When a folder size is requested, the cache tries to do an immediate clean. If there are a very small number of dirty folders, they are scanned immediately and then returned to the system. This way, the user sees more clean data and less dirty data. The threshold number of folders is configurable on the Performance slider.
